Why check your Google profile and local visibility?
When people search for a business near them, Google shows a map with three businesses first. Which three depends on where the search happens. A café can be number one on its own street and invisible two blocks away. That is why a single ranking number says little about local search.
Our free Google profile check looks at your visibility the way your customers experience it. We search for your term at 25 points on a small grid around your business and note your position at each point. You see where you are in the top 3, where you are on page two and where you do not show up at all. The average position and the share of top-3 points turn this into two simple numbers you can track.
The second part is your profile. Google ranks complete, active profiles higher, and customers click them more often. The check reads your public Google Business Profile and scores categories, photos, reviews, rating, opening hours, website, description and phone number from 0 to 100. Instead of a long report you get three to five tips, ordered by how much they are likely to help.

How is my local visibility measured?
We run a mobile Google Maps search for your term at 25 points on a 5×5 grid around your business, a few kilometres wide. At each point we record your position in the top 20. From this we calculate your average position and how often you reach the top 3, the spots shown first on the map.
What does the profile score from 0 to 100 mean?
The score shows how complete your public Google Business Profile is. It checks primary and additional categories, photos, number of reviews, star rating, opening hours, website, description, phone number and whether the business is marked as open. A higher score does not guarantee a ranking, but complete profiles tend to rank and convert better.
Why do I rank differently at different points?
Google Maps results depend on where the search happens. Distance to the searcher is one of the main local ranking factors, along with relevance and prominence such as reviews. That is why you can be first near your door and missing a few streets away. The grid makes these differences visible.
What data do you store?
We store the business you checked, your search term, the result, your consent time and version, a daily-changing hash of your IP address and a shortened browser name. We never store your IP address itself. Tracking data is anonymised after 90 days and checks are deleted after 12 months. Details are in our privacy policy.
My business has no address on Google. Does the check work?
The profile check works for every business. The map grid needs a location, so for pure service-area profiles without a public address we cannot place the grid. In Brand Dad you can set the centre of your service area yourself and track your ranking there.
