Your imprint, easy to reach
If you post commercially from Germany on Instagram, TikTok or YouTube, you usually need an imprint, the German Impressum. BrandDad builds an imprint and a privacy page into your link in bio page. You add your own texts.
- Imprint and privacy page on every plan
- One click away from your page
- Ad and affiliate links can carry a visible label
Every BrandDad link in bio page has a built-in imprint (Impressum) and privacy page, linked in the footer and reachable with one click. You paste or enter your own texts, BrandDad provides the fields and the structure. BrandDad does not offer an imprint generator or legal advice.
What BrandDad does for your imprint

The page is already there
Every link in bio page comes with an imprint and a privacy page, linked in its footer. You do not need to build a second website just so your imprint lives somewhere.

Fields instead of a blank page
Enter name, address, contact and further details into fields. Longer texts, for example from a generator or a law firm, you simply paste in as text.

Make advertising visible
Affiliate and ad links can carry a visible Ad label, so visitors see right away which link is paid or earns you a commission.
Do you need an imprint on Instagram?
German law requires an imprint, called Impressum, for online services offered on a business basis. The rule is in section 5 of the Digital Services Act (DDG). In the past, German courts have treated social media profiles as such services too. Business basis can already apply if you run ads, use affiliate links, work with brands or sell coaching or products, even as a side project.
The imprint has to be easy to recognise and directly reachable. In practice, many creators therefore link it through their link in bio page, so it is only a few taps away from the profile. Whether that is enough in your case and which details you have to provide depends on what you do.
BrandDad cannot answer that question for you in a binding way and does not replace legal advice. What we do is make sure the imprint and privacy pages exist, are linked and load fast. You are responsible for the content.
How to set up your imprint
Get your text
Create your imprint and privacy text with a generator of your choice or have a law firm write it. Chambers of commerce and professional associations also offer guidance.
Add it to BrandDad
Open the legal pages in your dashboard, fill in the fields and paste longer texts. The pages show up in the footer of your link in bio page automatically.
Check the path
Open your profile on your phone and tap through to the imprint. Make sure all details are current and update them whenever something changes.
What your page provides for it
Imprint page with fields
Name or company, address, email, phone and, depending on your case, details like a VAT ID. The page has its own address, for example branddad.io/@yourname/impressum.
Privacy page
Paste your privacy policy here. BrandDad describes which services run on your page, such as the cookieless statistics on servers in Germany, so you can reflect them in your text.

Linked in every footer
Imprint and privacy sit in the footer of your link in bio page, also on your own domain and in all 18 templates. You do not have to link anything by hand.
Ad label for links
Mark affiliate and ad links with a visible label. Whether and how you have to label them is your decision, the tool for it is there.

Where to find help with your texts
There are several ways to get the content of your imprint and privacy policy. Which one fits depends on how big your business is.
- The law itself: The required details are listed in section 5 DDG. For journalistic and editorial content, section 18 of the Interstate Media Treaty may apply as well.
- Generators: Several providers offer free and paid imprint and privacy policy generators. Read carefully what the provider is liable for and what the text covers.
- Chambers and associations: Chambers of commerce, crafts chambers and professional associations publish guides and advise their members.
- A lawyer: If you sell products, run a lot of advertising or are unsure, individual advice is worth it.
You paste your finished text into BrandDad. If something changes, for example your address, you update the details in one place and they apply to your link in bio page, including on your own domain.
The links above lead to external websites. We are not responsible for their content and do not recommend a specific generator.

Does BrandDad have an imprint generator?
No, on purpose. An imprint depends on what you do, and a wrong text does not help you. BrandDad provides the pages, fields and links. You create the text yourself, with a generator of your choice or with a law firm, and paste it in.
Is the imprint page included in every plan?
Yes. The imprint and privacy pages are part of every link in bio page, including the free plan. From the Founder plan you can also run your page on your own domain, and the imprint moves along automatically without extra work.
Is an imprint on my link in bio page enough for Instagram?
Many creators link their imprint through their link in bio page so it is reachable from the profile in a few taps. Whether that is enough in your specific case is something we cannot answer in a binding way. If in doubt, ask a lawyer or your chamber.
Do I have to publish my home address?
The law requires an address where you can be served legal documents. Whether an address other than your home, such as an office or a business address service, works for you depends on your case. Please get advice on this, BrandDad cannot check it for you.
What about the privacy policy?
You paste your privacy policy into the built-in privacy page. BrandDad tells you which services run on your page, such as the cookieless statistics on servers in Germany or embedded videos, so that your text can match what your page actually does.
How do I label ad links?
Every link on your page can carry a visible Ad label. Whether a link has to be labelled depends, for example, on whether you receive money, a commission or free products for it. You set the label with one click, the decision about when to use it is yours.
Does BrandDad protect me from legal problems?
No tool can promise that, and we do not either. BrandDad makes sure that imprint and privacy pages exist, are linked and can be reached. Whether your details are complete and correct is something you check yourself or with a professional.
