In short

With BrandDad you can run your link in bio page on your own domain, for example yourname.com, from the Founder plan. You can buy a new domain through BrandDad or connect one you already have, SSL is set up for you. The domain is billed yearly and separately from the plan.

Why your own domain is worth it

An address that belongs to you

Platforms change, tools come and go. A domain in your name stays. If you switch tools later, your link in every old bio, video description and flyer keeps working.

Looks professional

Brands, venues and clients take a link like yourname.com more seriously than a sub-page of a tool. It also fits on business cards and merch.

No setup headaches

BrandDad guides you through the connection step by step and sets up the SSL certificate. If you buy the domain through BrandDad, there is nothing to configure at all.

How custom domains work at BrandDad

Search and buy in one place

Look up whether your name is still available as a domain and buy it right inside BrandDad. The domain is billed yearly, separately from your monthly plan.

Bring a domain you already own

Already have a domain with another registrar? Point it to BrandDad with the records shown in your dashboard. BrandDad checks the connection and tells you when it is live.

SSL included

Every connected domain gets an SSL certificate, so visitors see the lock in their browser. Renewals happen automatically in the background.

Your old address keeps working

branddad.io/@yourname and branddad.io/@yourname continue to lead to your page, so links you already shared are not lost when you switch to your own domain.

Connect your domain in three steps

Go live
Once the connection is confirmed and SSL is active, your page is live on your domain. Update the link in your bios and you are done.

Should you get your own domain?

If you are just testing whether a link in bio page helps you, start with the free address. branddad.io/@yourname works right away, costs nothing and can be changed into a custom domain later without losing anything.

A domain makes sense as soon as your name is part of your business. That is the case when you sell coaching, take bookings, work with brands or print your link on merch, flyers or packaging. In all of these places the link should still work in three years, no matter which tool you use by then.

A domain in your own name gives you exactly that independence. You decide where it points. If you ever leave BrandDad, you export your data, point the domain somewhere else and every link you ever shared keeps working.

With BrandDad you can buy a domain directly or connect one you already have. Either way the SSL certificate is handled for you and your page runs on servers in Germany. The domain itself is billed yearly and separately, the plan stays a simple monthly price.

Custom domains are available from the Founder plan, which also removes the BrandDad badge, extends your statistics to 12 months and adds the scheduler for eight social channels.

Frequently asked questions

Which plans include a custom domain?

Founder, Creator and Pro include the option to connect or buy your own domain. The free plan uses branddad.io/@yourname and branddad.io/@yourname. You can start for free and upgrade later, your page and links stay the same when you do. Nothing needs to be rebuilt.

Does the domain cost extra?

Yes. The domain itself is billed yearly and separately from your monthly plan, because registries charge per domain and per year. The price depends on the ending, like .com or .de, and is shown before you buy. You can keep using the free address in parallel.

Can I use a domain I already own?

Yes. Enter your domain in the dashboard and copy the shown records to your current registrar. BrandDad checks the connection, sets up SSL and tells you as soon as your page is live on your domain. Your free address keeps working during the switch.

Can I use a subdomain like links.yourname.com?

That depends on your setup and is shown in the domain settings when you connect it. Many creators prefer a subdomain because their main domain already runs a website or shop. Follow the steps in the dashboard for the exact records.

What happens to my domain if I cancel?

Your page falls back to the free plan and to branddad.io/@yourname, and the badge returns. A domain you own stays yours and you can point it anywhere. Before cancelling you can export your data at any time. Nothing is deleted when you cancel.

Do my old links break when I switch to my domain?

No. branddad.io/@yourname and branddad.io/@yourname keep leading to your page. Links you already shared in old posts, video descriptions or printed material continue to work while you start using your new domain. You do not need to update anything you already published, although we recommend using your domain in new bios.
